Escape: Bangkok, Thailand

It’s become a much talked about and heavily visited city in Asia.
Travels with Baggage blogger Jody Robbins says Bangkok has risen significantly on the world stage.
“What’s interesting about Bangkok is it is now being ranked the world’s number one most visited city,” said Robbins. “So London, Paris and New York have been pushed off the pedestal.”
Robbins says it’s not surprising, having just returned from there.
“That’s a city that has really cleaned up recently. You still have night markets and traveler areas like Khao San Road. It’s just a very dynamic city with a lot of boutique hotel action going on, rooftop patios, wine bars; it’s very cosmopolitan.”
Robbins says it’s also so easy to escape that city and explore the rest of the country.
“It’s very easy and cheap to go to an island, a lake resort or go up north to Chiang Mai.”
