Hotel guests evacuated in Edmonton after wall crumbles

Employees and guests were forced out of a hotel in downtown Edmonton, after a large chunk of its wall began crumbling Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded to the Westin Edmonton Hotel at 10a.m., to find the brick facade has collapsed into an alleyway.

No one was injured; a structural engineer has determined it’s just the facade that is damaged.

All 251 guests were allowed back inside.

No word yet on what caused the wall to crumble.
