First quarterly emergency notification test in High River

Come lunch time Wednesday, sirens will sound in High River.

The town will perform the first of its new Emergency Notification System’s quarterly tests as part of the town’s commitment to better its communication after last year’s flooding.

At noon, two outdoor sirens will be heard and emergency notification phone calls, text messages and emails will be sent out.

In the case of an actual emergency, these alerts mean people should tune into local radio stations or check online for updates.
