The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer is taking place this weekend.
Riders started at Canada Olympic Park Saturday before moving to Bragg creek and then Okotoks, where they spent the night.
The 1,758 cyclists make their way back to Calgary Sunday.
The riders have raised at least $2,500 each to take part.
They are raising money for cancer research and care across the province.
One of those riders is Robert De Witt, a cancer survivor himself, who has endured nearly everything this terrible disease could cause.
“My dad was 51 when he passed away. It started with skin cancer, it went to his throat and the lymphoma was the last one” he said. “My older brother passed away at 39, he had leukemia. My mom at 71 with leukemia and my brother Nick that passed away he had bone cartilage cancer.”
$7.9 million has already been raise but Alberta Cancer Foundation CEO Myka Osinchuk said there is still time to donate to the cause.
“If people are interested they can donate to a specific rider or just make a general donation at conquercancer.ca“.
