An American sleep expert suggests, if you’re having trouble sleeping, try putting one of your feet outside the covers.
Natalie Dautovich with the U.S. National Sleep Foundation tells New York Magazine, our body cools down before we fall asleep, and we can help that process along by having a warm bath or beverage at bedtime, putting a fan in the bedroom, or removing your foot from the covers.
Dautovitch says the foot trick works because we lose so much heat through our feet, keeping the body cool and leading to more restorative sleep.
