One week ago, Mother Nature’s wrath was unleashed on Airdrie and they’re still assessing the damage.
Hail slammed down, shredding siding on many homes, breaking windows and leaving vehicles pock-marked.
Mayor Peter Brown tells 660News, much of the city of 50,000 was impacted. “I’m going to guess 50 per cent of the city was hit with some damage to their vehicles or their homes,” he said.
“It’s amazing to see how the hail actually got in between the residences and got so low on the siding. Lots of sides of buildings, especially anyone facing north, they were hit the hardest.”
He adds they’ve already had a handful of severe storms this summer and the season isn’t over yet and that’s creating anxiety for some people who’ve had to make repairs more than once.
