The Calgary Fire Department says a basement fire has caused significant damage to a two-story house in the northeast community of Taradale.
A family of three, along with four guests in the home, had safely evacuated when firefighters arrived on scene around 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
Crews reported thick, black, smoke rising from the rear of the home.
The department says the home will be uninhabitable until major repairs have been completed.
The fire is currently under investigation.
