Calgary Fire performs tricky forklift rescue

Calgary fire crews preformed a challenging rescue early Sunday morning after a workplace accident.

It happened in the 7800 block of 35th Street S.E., when a forklift overturned inside a transport trailer that was being off-loaded.

The weight of the forklift while removing product caused the centre of gravity to shift allowing the trailer to fall forward and caused the forklift to overturn.

Fire crews say it was difficult to get to the driver because of the location of the forklift and the shifted contents inside.

The Confined Space Rescue Team was able to stabilize the trailer and contents and remove the person without incident.
