Big Rock Brewery is mourning the loss of its founder.
Ed McNally passed away Wednesday night, surrounded by family.
The legendary businessman founded the local brewery in 1985.
Big Rock President & CEO Bob Sartor tells 660News, says McNally leaves behind a legacy larger than life.
“The reach of Ed and the McNally family goes well beyond the brewery, and one just needs to look at all of these philanthropic endeavours that they’ve been associated with over the years,” he said. “You know, hats off, because when the brewery made money, he shared”.
Big Rock was one of the first micro-breweries in western Canada.
Each year, Big Rock hosts “the Eddies Awards”; a celebration of McNally, which recognize the best home-made beer commercials from their customers.
