Organizers of Calgary’s Caribbean festival don’t care about the cool forecast.
They’re all set with a full slate of entertainment downtown.
Carifest kicked off with a parade starting at Olympic Plaza at 11 o’clock and headed down Stephen Avenue Mall.
It wound up at Shaw Millenium Park for all the festivities.
Kamar Wilks with the event says they’ve got a variety of entertainment.
“Festivities, Caribbean style! So it’s food, entertainment which involves dancing, live bands throughout the day,” says Wilks.
There’s also plenty to do for the kids.
Carifest runs from noon until 7 Saturday with an after-party at Flames Central.
