Police have laid charges in Sunday’s Tuscany shooting that sent a woman to hospital in critical condition.
The suspect was found several provinces away in Ontario, less thank 24 hours after the crime was committed.
Ulises Boris Quinteros, 51, is now facing the following charges:
Attempted murder
Pointing a firearm
Discharge of firearm with intent to wound, maim, disfigure
Choking with intent
Break and enter with the intent to harass
Calgary police asked for the public’s help Sunday morning as they hunted for 51-year-old Ulises Boris Quinteros, who they believed to be armed and dangerous.
Early Monday, police confirmed to 660News, Quinteros had been arrested by police in the Kenora area, just east of the Manitoba – Ontario border.
It’s unclear how he got there so quickly, more than 1500 km east of Calgary.
The focus for investigators right now is working out the details of bringing Quinteros back to the city.
The victim was rushed to hospital in serious condition with multiple gunshot wounds, was able to speak to police but a motive is still unclear.
Police do say the victim and suspect are known to each other.
This was the second shooting of the weekend.
Early Saturday morning, a young woman was shot to death outside an 11th Avenue nightclub in the southwest.
Police say she was an innocent bystander out with friends for the night.
The hunt continues for a suspect in that case but police only have a vague description to go on.
