PC government to release first quarter fiscal update

The PC Government will be releasing its first quarter fiscal update Wednesday morning.
Finance Minister Doug Horner will be providing an economic statement at 11 a.m.
In the last update in February the government came under fire for claiming a $1.2 billion operational surplus.
The opposition Wildrose called the numbers bogus, claiming there was actually a deficit.
Horner said he expected the surplus to grow and said the province would continue to tighten its purse strings.
