EMS busy as snow causes more crashes

Calgary EMS have been getting more calls on city roads than they usually do on a summer day.

Since midnight, paramedics have responded to almost 30 crashes.

Spokesperson Adam Loria says no one was seriously hurt.

“A handful of those did result in injury, however, from what I’ve been told, none of them life-threatening or critical in nature, luckily,” he said.

Loria says typically in the winter months this weather brings an influx of cardiac emergencies as well.

If snow has collected on your property, he urges you to use your legs rather than your back when shovelling.
