Dog found with devastating injuries, died while receiving care

It’s a case of severe animal neglect.

In fact, Brad Nichols says it’s the most severe overall neglect he’s ever seen.

The manager of Cruelty Investigations with the Calgary Humane Society’s Protection and Investigations team says this investigation is frustrating.

“This poor dog had no permanent identification and as a result we are very limited in our ability to investigate further,” he said.

Ruby was found Friday, September 5th wandering around a strip mall in Ogden.

The white bulldog was named by the veterinary clinic that admitted her.

She had large facial and hind wounds, suffered severe emaciation, and showed signs of eye and ear infections.

Ruby died during surgery, but the Humane Society is hoping charges against the owner of the neglected animal will be laid.
