Homicide unit looking into death in the SW

The Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a woman in her 40’s in the southwest community of Mission.
Crews were called to the 200 block of Holy Cross Lane just before 12:30p.m. Sunday afternoon and found the woman dead inside a residence.
Detective Nancy Farmer said they do have one person of interest in custody.
“We’ve got one possible witness, not to the offence itself, but who may know this person of interest,” she said.
A man was taken into custody without incident. He is currently in police custody and speaking with investigators.
The victim and the person in custody are known to each other and this is not considered a random incident.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
