Calgary driver stops to help victim of stabbing

Calgary police are trying to track down four men in the wake of a stabbing early Sunday.

An injured man in his 20s or early 30s was found around 2:30 a.m. at 16th Avenue and Edmonton Trail N.E.

Kudos is going out to a passing driver who stopped to help.

Constable Hung Pham tells 660News the driver called 9-1-1 and followed instructions over the phone to apply pressure to reduce the bleeding from the man’s wounds.

After paramedics arrived, they determined the victim had been stabbed and notified police.

The men police are looking for are believed to be around the same age of the victim and are described so far as ‘persons of interest’ in the case.

As of yet, investigators don’t know if the man was attacked where he was found or if he wandered there looking for help.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or CrimeStoppers.
