Rain pummels the East Coast

Not a great start to the new work week in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Rick Howe, Talk Show Host at News 95.7 says after a beautiful weekend, Mother Nature pounded them with lots of wind and rain.

“The rain and winds have knocked power out; at one point roughly some 50,000 people,” he said. “Most of them here in the Halifax area were without power. That’s slowly coming back on, though several schools had to be cancelled and such.”

“Welcome to (almost) the first day of fall,” he joked.

Howe uses the term “nuisance” to sum up the storm and outside of power outages there haven’t been any reports of injuries or massive destruction.

Better weather is expected to roll into Halifax and area later on Monday.
