Enmax says power in the N.E. to be restored later than expected

Thousands of people were in the dark in the northeast after a car struck a transformer Thursday night.

Enmax says around 1100 customers were without power overnight and into Friday morning.

Officials say a damaged pole and cables means it’s not yet safe for crews to energize the area.

Falconridge Boulevard at Taradale Drive was closed as crews worked to restore electricity.

Enmax says to expect the power at approximately noon Friday.
