Emergency crews are trying to track down a homeless person who might have been injured in a dumpster fire Saturday morning.
Fire crews were called to put out a blaze just behind the Elbow River Casino and found a man inside the container.
Battalion Chief Allan Ball tells 660News, firefighters did their best to get help for the man but he refused and ran off.
“I mean it’s obviously not the outcome that Calgary fire would have wanted. We would have liked to have been able to make sure they’re okay,” Ball said. “But, when someone refuses treatment, we just don’t have the mechanism to give pursuit and we definitely don’t restrain people to make sure they’re okay.”
Police and paramedics are keeping an eye out for the victim.
