Avalanche victim identified as Harvie Heights man

The victim of a deadly avalanche northwest of Golden has been identified as Robson Eras Gmoser.

The 45-year-old from Harvie Heights, just outside Canmore, was a professional ski guide, and was leading a group based at the Sorcerer Lodge on March 10th.

Gmoser had left the lodge to prepare the area where he would take the group the next day, when he was struck and buried by a slab avalanche.

Doctors tried to resusciate him and failed.

The B.C. Coroners Service, Work Safe B.C., and RCMP continue to investigate his death.
