Audible Edibles – March 26

Watercress Express
Where: 1322 17 Ave SW, 403-455-6222, Facebook.com/WatercressExpress

What: This Vietnamese restaurant might blend in with the rest its genre in terms of casual atmosphere and quick-service sort of vibe, but where it stands is in the kitchen. SAIT-trained chef, Lam Pham, is of Vietnamese descent and uses his chef experience to up the ante when it comes to everything from salad rolls to pho and noodle bowls. The result is something any self-proclaimed Vietnamese food lover will approve of.

Price point: Extremely affordable. Almost everything is under the $10 mark.

Pro: Watercress does an amazing job of harnessing those familiar Vietnamese flavours (and dishes) that we all know and love, and takes them to a new level. The crispy wontons are a must-order.

Con: Part of the beauty of this spot is its presentation, so if you’re getting your food to-go, you will miss out a bit on the experience, or “wow” factor, if you will.
