Alberta Votes 2015: Joe Ceci

This article is more than 5 years old.

Leading up to the May 5 election, City News and 660 News will be running a series focusing on some Calgary candidates with interesting back stories.

Joe Ceci is running for the NDP in the riding of Calgary-Fort.

Ceci isn’t new to politics: he retired a few years ago after being an alderman with the City of Calgary for several years.

However, when the NDP approached him about this election, Ceci tells City News he had a tough choice to make.

“Do I want to give up the great life me and my wife have right now for possibly getting back into the fray of politics? The answer I talked with Rachel was yes, definitely yes, it’s worth it.” Ceci said.

Party officials hope it’s worth appointing Ceci to represent the NDP in Calgary-Fort, which is currently a PC-controlled riding.
