Police and HAWCS helicopter have been called in after reports of a shooting in Bowness.

Police say a man was shot in the arm shortly before 11 PM Monday after his girlfriend called 9-1-1.

The victim is not believed to be suffering from serious injuries but officers have been searching the area, in the 6000 block of Bowwood Drive, for the person or people responsible.

Police are also speaking with witnesses and it’s not clear at this time what direction the suspect took off in.

There are no major road closures in place as police say the incident occurred in a back alley.
