Softball players wanted in Calgary

The city’s softball league is looking for players, specifically boys.

Kathy Irvine is the League Director for Calgary Minor Softball and says the past decade has been tough for them.

She says they’ve gone from roughly 30 boys teams, down to five last year.

“It’s actually a national problem, it’s not just a Calgary situation. Softball Canada has been working, as well to try to come up with strategies to increase registration for both men and women, boys and girls,” she said.

Irvine says right now they only have three boys teams filled, and two teams looking for more players.

Registration about $200, and players need their own glove and helmet.
