Fire destroys home in Kincora

Firefighters were putting out hot-spots in a home in the northwest community of Kincora Friday evening after a blaze broke out in the house late in the afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the 200 block of Kincora Cove around 5:30 p.m.

Battalion Chief Allan Ball said fire crews immediately called for additional equipment to help with the flames.

“On arrival it was determined it was a developed fire in a two – storey residential home. Crews were unable to make entry so we consequently took a defensive stance on this fire.  The fire has been confined to the source home with some minor to the two adjacent exposures,” Ball said.

He added there were no injuries reported, and that the fire department would be on scene well into Friday night dealing with the hot-spots.
