It’s not the way the Flames wanted to start round two of the playoffs.
Calgary got smoked 6-1 in Anaheim Thursday night, as the Ducks’ top line combined for nine points.
Flames forward Mikael Backlund says they’re going to need to do a better job against that line if they want to get back in the series.
“They have really good talented offensive zone players, defensively, I don’t know, we have to take advantage of them there, so that’s what we have to do is play in their zone to start, and in our zone we have to battle way harder and take away time and space,” Backlund said.
Game 2 goes Sunday at 8 p.m. in Anaheim.
