A worker discovered a woman’s body in a ditch near Balzac on Monday afternoon.
RCMP were called to the scene, a well as the forensic identification services and the major crimes unit.
The man who found the body, named Sid, told 660News his team went in for a closer look after spotting it from their work site.
“We went down to take a look at it and it actually was a dead body and it looks like it’s been sitting there for a little while, naked, three-quarters naked,” Sid said.
The body was found near Range Road 285 and Township Road 264.
Police say the body will be removed to the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office for identification and an autopsy.
