Dream Centre introduces new addictions program for women

There is new hope for women who suffer from addictions in the city.

The Calgary Dream Centre, which has helped more than 4,000 men since 2004, will offer a recovery program for 10 women starting in October.

Spokesperson Gail Cerekwicki says they are taking a unique approach.

“We have to look at body, mind, emotional, social issues, as well as women who are victims of abuse and various things like that, the whole approach is unique,” she said.

She also added the centre will work with partners like the YWCA and Aventa to develop the program.

Thirteen women have already called the Dream Centre this week, hoping to get a spot in the seven week program when it begins this fall.
