Funeral planned for hit and run victim

Family, friends and the public at large will get a chance to say good bye Friday, to a woman who died in a senseless hit and run.

Maryam Rashidi was run over by a truck last weekend, as she tried to stop a vehicle allegedly involved in a gas and dash.

The 35-year-old wife and mother died in hospital Tuesday.

A funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Pierson’s Funeral Home, and the public is welcome.

A 20-year-old Calgary man is facing charges in the incident, but police have not yet released his name.

Anyone who wants to contribute to the trust fund for Rashidi’s family, can go to any TD Bank to make a donation.
