Where: Two locations – 12th Ave and 12th St and 4th Ave and 4th St, 403-245-8487, pigandduke.ca
What: A gastropub duo that has consistently rotating beer taps (lots of microbrews to be found here), fun food and lots of televisions to catch whatever major sporting event is happening at the moment.
Price Point: Moderate. Pints are $7-$8.50 and a plate of food averages about $14.
Pro: The food menu here is really fun and tasty. The pig knuckles are like tender dry ribs in a house rub, they do frog legs chicken wing-style on their weekly wing night and the Korean barbecue wrap is great too.
Con: If there’s a really big game on or a UFC fight, it can get pretty loud in here. So, not always the best spot for a date.
