Trending: Federal candidates get creative with campaign videos

They may not be familiar faces in politics, but some federal MP candidates are winning the Internet.

From flying on a Canadian goose to channelling their inner Bob Dylan, a handful of candidates are choosing creativity over negativity to get their names out there.

Wyatt Scott, who is running as an independent for Mission Matsqui Fraser Canyon, drew international attention early in the campaign with his completely ridiculous video that included a dragon slaying, aliens and Conservative robots bent on destruction.

The video has been viewed over 1.4 million times on YouTube.

Matt Masters Burgener has the misfortune of being the NDP candidate in Conservative Leader Stephen Harper’s Calgary-Heritage riding, but he’s using that to his advantage in his latest commercial – which the Huffington post calls the ‘smartest ad’ of the campaign.

The video has over 91,000 views since Monday.

Noah Richler, the NDP candidate for Toronto-St. Paul, has found clever ways to take on both Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau and Harper.

Richler’s videos together have had almost 50,000 views.
