Four car CTrain testing up and running after hiccups

It was delayed by about a week, but four car CTrains are now up and running.

Two of them start running Monday morning for training purposes over the next seven to 10 days.

Transit Spokesperson Ron Collins says the delay occurred because of software glitches.

“We needed to upgrade some of the software in our power substations to assure that the breakers wouldn’t trip for the additional four-car (trains). So, that’s all been done. Everything is ready to roll. So, so far everything is good, there’s been no issues at all,” he said.

Collins says the trains are good for passengers to ride during the training period.

He says actual service with four car CTrains will begin in December as the first of 60 new CTrains arrive in Calgary.
