Mounties looking for escaped prisoner

RCMP are looking for a man who escaped police custody this morning, southwest of Edmonton.

Jason McGinn, 26, had been arrested the night before for possession of a stolen automobile, was able to jump into the driver’s seat of a marked police car and drive away while being transferred from Thorsby to Drayton Valley.

The cruiser was found abandoned a short time later, and nothing had been taken from it.

McGinn was not armed when last seen and does not have a history of violence. However, RCMP is telling people not to approach him.
