Are you nervous about those finishing touches to your Halloween costume?
Calgary Make-up Artist Angela McIntosh says the key to nailing that look is keeping it simple.
McIntosh says; try achieving the look with minimal product, if possible.
“There’s pre-packaged product out there for you, and a lot of the times, it is very basic and non-toxic, so if you are brand new, maybe try at that level first and work your way up,” she said.
It’s also important to have a plan.
“References are a great tool. So, say you want to be Miss Piggy for Halloween, grab a picture off the internet of Miss Piggy,” McIntosh explained.
She says if you are feeling a bit more ambitious, there are some easy to use prosthetics and 3D transfers that can create some cool looks — just don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it!
McIntosh adds, if you’re ever concerned about the safety of a product, don’t use it.
She says, anything labelled ‘water-soluble’ is always a good way to go.
