Local craft brewer impressed with changes made by AGLC and province

One local craft brewer says it’s thrilled with the changes made in the recent budget.
The NDP has lowered the mark-up and liquor tax on local beer, allowing the Alberta craft industry to grow past 20,000 hectalitres a year.
Co-founder of Toolshed Brewing Company, Jeff Orr, told 660 NEWS that it will give them a better shelf presence on the store shelves.
“We always had this line where we could only grow to the certain point and then the taxes became cumbersome in the way to run the business,” Orr said. “Now we’re at a point where we can look past that point and say ‘yeah, we can keep going past that point’ and continue our success rather than trying to hamper ourselves and get stuck below that level.”
Orr also said that this will allow them keep their markets moving and get beer out to thirsty Albertans.
