Rare horrors playing at marathon movie screening

The Funhouse, Gremlins 2 and The Curse of Frankenstein are just some of the lesser known titles playing at the Globe Cinema for an overnight marathon.

The Calgary Underground Film Festival is bringing the films back to the silver screen Saturday night. Programming lead Cameron Macgowan told 660 NEWS about the picks.

“We made a conscious effort to choose films that we felt were under-seen and underappreciated so we’re showing some of our personal favourites,” Macgowen said.

There are even classic clips playing in between movies.

“We’ve currated some of our favourite movie trailers and nostalgic 80s and 90s television commercials, all Halloween related, that will play in between the films. These are all super fun and they’ll definitely bring back some good memories,” Macgowan said.

The All-Night Monster Movie Marathon starts at 7 p.m. Saturday and runs until 7 a.m. Sunday. There’s food and beer for sale and viewers can also come and go if they don’t feel like sitting through the entire marathon.
