AARC to host Fentanyl workshop

A Fentanyl community education workshop is being held Thursday, November 5th between 7-8:30pm at the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre at 303 Forge Road SE.

The workshop will cover common questions about Fentanyl, the impact of its abuse on individuals, families and communities and how AARC treats adolescent prescription drug abuse.

Guest speakers include Dr. Mark Yarema, Medical Director of Alberta’s Poison and Drug Information Services and Janine Copeland, Clinical Director of AARC.

This comes after Ward 9 councillor Gian-Carlo Carra spoke Monday about how Fentanyl addiction may be driving a rash of property thefts in Inglewood and Ramsay which has resulted in residents heading into nearby homeless camps to try to retrieve their belongings, a move that Carra says is ill advised.
