Whether you an astronomy lover or a brainiac like a character on The Big Bang Theory, the news about water on Mars was huge.
It will be a big subject of discussion for Dr. Matt Golombek with NASA, chief scientist for the Mars mission, who is headed to Calgary this month.
Candace Jones is with the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, which is hosting the event.
“He was involved with the Mars Pathfinder Project, he’s a scientist involved with that, responsible with the overall science content of that mission and is the prime interface between the project and the science community and NASA headquarters,” says Jones.
She says the idea behind their Annual Address is to make geoscience more approachable to the general public.
It will be held at the Jack Singer Concert Hall November 18th.
