It was a close call in Albert Park, as fire crews were called to a fast spreading garage fire.
Residents in homes near the blaze in the 2800 block of 11 Ave SE had to be evacuated.
What started the fire is still unclear, but neighbours say the homeowner was restoring a car inside the garage.
Marlo lives next door, and woke to use the washroom only to find his neighbour’s backyard workshop in flames.
“I called the 911, and they already had a call in, so I went to move my truck and that was that,” he said. “A little too close to home.”
The garage was left a pile of smoke, wood and ash.
Fire investigators are still determining a cause.
