Union boss slams Obama

The head of one of North America’s largest unions calls U.S. President Barack Obama a ‘hypocrite’ for rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline.
Sean McGarvey tells 660 NEWS, Obama had plenty of chances to reject the line — but didn’t — plus, McGarvey says, the president had no problem with other lines that were built on his watch.
“There’s 12,000 miles of oil pipeline that’s been constructed since Keystone was under review in the United States. The only difference between those pipelines and this one is that it crosses an international border and this is the one that the radical environmental movement pointed to as the one they wanted to stop,” says McGarvey.
McGarvey, president of North America’s Building Trades Unions says the timing of the rejection is suspect, since it’s just ahead of the U-N climate summit and he believes Obama just wanted to leave a legacy.
He’s confident Keystone will eventually be built because people will demand it, no matter who is in the White House.
