Christmas is coming early for some drivers around Calgary. The Holiday Parking Elves are back starting Saturday, to kickstart some holiday cheer in the form of free parking.
The elves will be in Kensington and along 4th St. S.W. between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. to start as many free two-hour parking sessions as they can.
This is the fifth year the Calgary Parking Authority has partnered with local business zones to encourage people to see what these neighbourhoods have to offer.
The Kensington Village Business Revitalization Zone says it has shopping, amazing food, selfies with Santa and carolers around the neighbourhood during the Christmas season.
The Calgary Parking Authority says: Don’t be shy, if you aren’t approached by an elf, give them a tap on the shoulder to ask for the gift. The city is giving away a total of 1000 free two-hour parking sessions during the campaign.
