The Calgary Flames will be spreading some warmth on the ice Tuesday night.
As they face off against the San Jose Sharks, they are celebrating donations to the Flames Foundation.
Throughout the game, videos and promos will be shown in the arena, highlighting where contributions go and how much it is appreciated.
Around $2.6-million was donated last year to the foundation, going to health and wellness initiatives, and programs that support youth in sports.
The Flames Better Halves will also be hosting a toy drive, benefitting kids at the Ronald McDonald House, and the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
It’s all in honour of Emerson Stajan, the infant son of Matt and Katie Stajan, who died last year shortly after birth.
Katie says it’s so special to be able to keep Emerson’s memory and legacy alive by helping others.
Flames fans are encouraged to bring along an unwrapped toy, gift card, or cash donation to Section 227 on the main concourse of the Saddledome.
One of a kind wreaths, decorated with autographs and hockey pucks can also be won by purchasing raffle tickets, with proceeds going towards the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre.
