One charged, another expected in Tuscany LRT graffiti case

Police say mischief charges have now been laid after anti-Muslim and anti-Syrian refugee graffiti was spray-painted at a northwest CTrain station, but the Crown is still determining whether hate charges will be added.
Following an arrest Wednesday, 30-year-old Miguel Lavergne has been charged with six counts of public mischief, while a second suspect is now in custody and will face similar charges after appearing before a judge.
Calgary police recently released CCTV footage photos of two suspects, after the station and several parked vehicles were tagged.
Although the Crown is still considering if hate charges are applicable, Calgary police have classified it as a hate-motivated crime.
Lavergne is of no fixed address.
The graffiti was spray-painted at four locations on both the upper and lower platforms, a walkway, as well as five vehicles in the south parking lot.
