One man dead after Monterey Park shooting

One man is dead after a shooting in the northeast. EMS confirmed an adult man died of his injuries on scene following a shooting Sunday afternoon.
Calgary police were called to the 100 block of Del Ray Rd. N.E. just before 2:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting that had possibly left one person injured.
The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released when they become available.
The scene of the crime is about a five-minute walk away from another brazen shooting that happened this summer.
In late August, 27-year-old David Quach was gunned down on his driveway in the 7000 block of California Blvd. N.E.
The Guns and Gangs Unit has been busy this year. As of October 31st, there have been more than 10 gun-related deaths, over 70 weapons-related incidents, and more than 600 gun-related charges laid so far in 2015.
Police chief Roger Chaffin blames gangs and drugs for the increased gun violence, and has said in the past that getting the situation under control is one of his top priorities.
