Canada’s newest discount airline will soon take flight – but there won’t be any stops in Alberta.
So, is the wildrose province is off the table?
There was a lot of fanfare last week as it launched with seven destination cities to start.
The company head says, what’s keeping them so cheap is that they’re unbundling services, making it like a pick-and-pay.
They’ll fly out of Abbotsford, Kelowna, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Halifax – but no landing or taking off in Alberta.
CEO Jim Young says they looked at it carefully.
“If you look at the number of non-stop destinations you can get to from Calgary International, your city’s doing pretty well. We’re focusing on cities that don’t necessarily have as many non-stop destinations,” shared Young.
When asked about the future, Young added, “Never say never.”
