Man wanted after planned escape from Peace River facility back in custody

The manhunt for a prisoner who escaped from custody in Peace River is over.
29-year-old Harley John Lay was on his way to hospital for treatment when the guards that were escorting him were approached by a masked man with a gun.
Lay was handed over to the man, who then fled with the masked suspect and another man in a beige mini-van.
Lay and two other men were arrested around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday after RCMP stopped a vehicle near Fort Nelson, B.C.
Police will provide an update on charges when they are formally laid.
