CPS give more details of child’s suspicious death; still not declared a homicide

More details are coming out regarding the suspicious death of a three-year-old boy in Ranchlands this weekend, but police are still holding back from calling it a homicide.
Staff Sgt. Colin Chisholm with the Homicide Unit identified the boy as Isaiah Zoue, but his cause of death has not been revealed.
“We do not believe it was a random incident, I can tell you that,” Chisholm said.
Neighbours have told 660 NEWS the boy died of a stabbing.
“We have people, persons of interest that we want to talk to, that’s for sure,” he said, adding they have conducted some interviews already.
Only the boy and his mother lived in the home and Chisholm said she was found at home in medical distress and was transported to hospital in stable condition, but wouldn’t elaborate.
The boy’s father is not considered a person of interest and Chisholm admitted it took longer to contact next of kind than they would’ve liked.
Police arrived at the scene around 10 p.m. on Saturday night at the home in the 400 block of Ranchlands Grove N.W.
A family friend called CPS because the mother hadn’t been heard from since Wednesday.
It’s unclear when police will say if this will be considered a homicide and counselling services have been made available to the officers who found the young victim.
