Charges to come after weapons incident in Temple

Charges are pending after a police traffic stop turned into a standoff in the city’s northeast.
An officer had stopped a vehicle in an alley Wednesday morning in the 200 block of Templebow Place around 2:00 a.m. when a man with a gun came out of a house nearby.
The officer called for backup and challenged the suspect, who then ran back into the house.
Six other people were also inside the home at the time.
After several hours of negotiation, the suspect surrendered and he and the others were taken into custody just after 8:00 a.m.
It doesn’t appear anyone was hurt.
