Alberta couple arrested for cheque fraud

Mounties have arrested a couple in Central Alberta after more than 40 bad cheques were used around the province to purchase goods totalling over $33,000.

Virginia Wallis, 38 and Daryl Wallis, 40, from the Calmar area in Leduc County have been charged.

Police say they expect to receive more complaints as the bad cheques are returned to businesses by banks due to insufficient funds.
