Short-handed Flames hold on for 4-3 win over Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs scored two unanswered goals, but the Calgary Flames would hang on to earn a 4-3 victory at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Tuesday night.
Dougie Hamilton had a two point game including the winner while Markus Granlund also finished with a goal and an assist.
Mikael Backlund and Micheal Ferland also found the back of the net for the Flames who have won consecutive games for the first time since January 5th as well as three of their last four match-ups.
Jonas Hiller made a second straight appearance in between the pipes. He turned aside 33 shots in the victory.
Up next, the Flames will embark on a two game Pacific Division road trip. They will face-off with the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.
All-star Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan, the Flames top two scorers along with veteran Lance Bouma were healthy scratches for disciplinary reasons.
The Leafs were without the services of captain and former Flames’ defenseman Dion Phaneuf along with forward Matt Frattin, who were part of a massive nine player trade earlier in the day between Toronto and Ottawa.
